About training

Public leadership is essential if senior civil servants are to get the best from their staff and other resources. By providing a sense of purpose and direction and communicating their vision for the future of the Ukrainian civil service they will mobilise the effort required to deliver policies and services efficiently and effectively.

During completion of the workshop participants will:

  • Examine international concepts of public service leadership and how they apply to their current and future roles in the Ukrainian government ministries
  • Explore strategic drivers for change and identify possible scenarios for the future civil service
  • Draft a vision of what the preferred future will look like and examine the gap between where we they are and where they aim to be
  • Set long term objectives and how they will know when they are succeeding
  • Be ready to communicate their vision and strategic direction to others
  • Devise leadership strategies for setting the tone, style and culture, including how they will value diversity in the pursuit of team performance
